South Carolina Bill Advances, Would Establish Registration by Party

On March 7, a subcommittee of the South Carolina House Judiciary Committee passed HB 3110, which establishes registration by party. If the bill passes, parties will be able to close their primary if they wish. Currently South Carolina has open primaries, and any voter is free to choose any party’s primary ballot.

  1. I don’t care much for registration by party. This bill should also eliminate primaries as well, that way us taxpayers won’t have to pick up the tab. I know poll taxes are illegal, but is there a way for those in the party to pay for these primaries?

  2. More PURGE lists ??? Duh.
