It is now possible for anyone to search a database and see who signed the petition to recall Governor Scott Walker. See this story. The searchable data base does not include the address of signers.

I am curious, have they ever done this for any election petition before? I have never heard of such a step.
One more PURGE list ???
Has signing ANY petition now become super-dangerous ???
Need to add secret signing of petitions to secret voting in elections ??? Duh.
But it does include links to the petition pages and line numbers.
The recall petitions have been online for months, some conservative groups had created a searchable version. Some Republican candidates have been using it as a tool – sending postcards to recall signers asking them “if they really meant to sign it”. It is both intimidation and harassment.
However “Democrats” can use the same tools to target potential supporters, so that coin has two sides.
