New Mexico Supreme Court Puts Various Candidates on Primary Ballots

On April 10, the New Mexico Supreme Court put several Republican and Democratic candidates on the June 5 primary ballots. The Court decided the case only 33 minutes after hearing the oral argument. See this story. The ballot access of some candidates had been challenged because their primary petitions didn’t include the number of the district. A few more cases remain to be settled. The Court seemed to feel that substantial compliance with petition technicalities is good enough.

  1. Where is that Universe Election Law Court in session 24/7 — to deal with the more and more insane election law cases ???

  2. Elections, especially, are YES/NO type events in each step of the process.

    Elector – Yes/No.
    Registered – Yes/No.
    Candidates/Issues on ballots – Yes/No

    etc. etc.

What is causing a TOTAL breakdown in the election system ???

Could it be $$$$$$$ in govts ??? — i.e. Who GETS $$$$ govt money to live on – each day, week, month, year, lifetime ???

  3. With Hon MP Richard Winger [Libertarian] having supported Hon Gary Johnson [Libertarian] for president, Johnson being the Gov of NM for eight years, don’t you think you’d have seen some progress in ballot access in NM?

BTW, “Mr. Veto” Gary Johnson [Libertarian] is a big proponent of yes/no-style “veto the legislation”, while I’ve been active in implementing more advance decision making systems, i.e. the ranking of multiple choice, the more the better, in order to find consensus.

Johnson for president = Pluralism = two-party system = conflict
Ogle for president = Proportionalism = multi-party system = teamwork, conciliation and unity
