Country Party Submits More Signatures, Believes it Has Enough Valid to be Qualified in Wyoming

On April 23, the Country Party submitted another 1,200 signatures to the Wyoming Secretary of State. Combined with the signatures already submitted, this probably means that the Country Party will probably appear on this year’s ballot. If that happens, Wyoming will have more qualified parties than it has ever had. The other qualified parties are Democratic, Republican, Americans Elect, Constitution, and Libertarian.

  1. It will be interesting how the presidential vote will turn out. The Country Party probably would not have a presidential candidate?

  2. How about running a slate of Unpledged Electors? If the race turns out to be close they could wield some real power!

  3. Wyoming is the most Republican state in the nation. If it a close presidential race in Wyoming, Obama will win in the biggest landslide since 1972. There will be no Country Party presidential candidate on the ballot.

The Wyoming Country Party is focused on defeating RINOs in the state legislature. We will not run candidates against “good” incumbent state legislators. By “good”, I mean incumbents who have voted to reduce taxes, reduce spending, and have worked to take back responsibility and authority from Washington DC. For example, the party advocates that the state of Wyoming refuse all federal funding for K-12 education.

  4. Running unpledged electors would not conflict in any way with what the Country Party is all about IMO.

  5. There is no concept of electors in the presidential race on the Wyoming ballot. Just names for Pres+VP with (party name) or (Independent) following the names.

  7. I understand your reasoning Don; the Nevada IAP also doesn’t run candidates against certain GOP legislators that have a strong principled conservative voting record. But of course you still need to run candidates all over in order to show that your party is strong and organized, plus also run your best candidates for local offices that they could win too. We’re been doing that strategy for the past several elections, and it has been paying off for us.
