Does this law apply to candidates for President?
#3, yes. But it doesn’t bar more signatures from being in to the town clerks, just to the Secretary of State.

Does this mean that any independents wishing to run for a congressional seat in 2014 face a deadline this Friday, June 1, 2012? For an election that occurs in November 2013?
#6, the deadline mentioned in the newspaper story is for the November 2012 election.
