British Proposal for an Elected House of Lords is Abandoned — 7 Comments

  1. Suicidal brain damage in the alleged brains of the UK LibDems — i.e. having ANY connection with the EVIL Cons.

IF LibDems have ANY brains they will instantly join with the Labour folks in a BLOOD OATH — P.R. and separation of powers or death.

See the Tennis Court Oath in France in 1789.

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V.

  2. It does look as though the Lib Dems are going to come away with nothing in this coalition with the Conservatives. Best not to do it again.

  3. I am not sure what the LibDems expected. They lost seats in the last election as well.

  4. From what I know about British government, I think the House of Lords is pretty much just an honorary position. It is in the House of Commons where all of the laws and bills are decided.

  5. # 4 The House of Lords is filled with ex MP robot party hacks — too EVIL and old to run in elections.

NOT enough of the so-called Lords killed each other off in the War of the Roses in the late 1400s.

The U.K. remains a DARK AGE regime – minority rule gerrymanders in the House of Commons (since the late 1200s), the Dark Age Lords and the Dark Age monarchy.

  6. It is the first time that there have been Liberal minsters since the war time coalition so we are in a steep learning curve but we are getting some of our policies into action ie raising the personnel allowance to £10,000 per annum.
