Approximately a year ago, scientists at the Social Cognitive Networks Academic Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute published a paper, which is described in this article. The findings are that when at least 10% of a population comes to an unshakeable conviction about a social issue, that idea will eventually prevail and be adopted by a majority. See here. This study seems very flawed. At least 10% of the population has an unshakeable position on being pro-choice. At least 10% of the population also has an unshakeable position on being anti-choice. What happens now?
1 – Good point. But you have to dig deeper. A mere 7% have an unshakeable belief that the decision whether a pregnancy should go full term should be decided by using a lifeline on a reality TV show.
Therefore the only question remaining on this issue is…do you want to be host when that unshakeable position ultimately prevails?
