Sacramento Bee Carries Op-Ed on California’s Experience with the Top-Two Primary System

The October 18 Sacramento Bee has this op-ed on California’s top-two system, Proposition 14. It is severely critical of how it has worked in practice so far. The authors are Ben Boychuk of the Manhatten Institute and an editorial writer for the Bee, Pia Lopez. Thanks to Jack Dean for the link.

  1. P.R. and nonpartisan App.V. — even for the genius editorial type folks in CA.

The failure/omission to have P.R. is being filled with EVIL worse and worse monarchy/oligarchy machinations

    — see the U.S.A. Prez and CA Guv for examples

    — almost tyrants due to NOT having REAL Democracy in the U.S.A. Congress and CA Legislature respectively.

i.e. the U.S.A. is very close to having a bunch of lunatic Stalins and Hitlers in the regime —

with a resort to FIRST PRINCIPLES — see the 2nd para of the 1776 DOI.

  2. This is a great read. The quip from the Blues Brothers about featuring “both” kinds of music is about right. Top-two, there’s nothing good about it. Nothing.
