  1. If we had this absolute right to vote, then would we see every state with same day registration on election day, with a right to vote? The right to vote in the Constitution refers to presidential electors, correct?

  2. Right now the best we have is that we’re guaranteed a republican form of government.

    #1, I believe the right could still be restricted, but would be subject to strict scrutiny concerns. I could see 5 justices saying that pre-registration is narrowly tailored to address a compelling interest.
