Five Colorado Counties Vote in Favor of Forming New State — 3 Comments

  1. I really think we need such a vote here in southern Illinois. Chicago dominates the entire state with its huge center of population, and as a result we have little real effective representation down here. State Rep. Bost had to throw a fit in a legislative session some time ago just to get that fact noticed.

  2. Abolish the gerrymander USA Senate and lots more States would be formed.

i.e. Folks escaping from communist ghetto old cities — i.e. Detroit, Chicago, New York, etc.

  3. 1. U. S. Senators are elected State-wide; the use of the term “gerrymander” is strikingly inaccurate (besides, “gerrymander” is a verb or a noun; it is not an adjective).

    2. Were the five counties to form a new State, it would be much more feasible for candidates for Statewide office, including for both Houses of Congress (there’d just be one Federal Representative, who would be voted on State-wide), who are not backed by Big Business to win. So expect to see major opposition to any attempts to translate the results in those counties into action.
