  1. Usually when these people advocate for a new party

We do need a new party of the center< but it must be one which is populist and takes the issues on the individual merits< and not from an ideological position

  2. I don’t know, perhaps I misread it, but to me it seemed like he wasn’t necessarily implying the need for a centrist third major party, but a need for some sort of rational, decent third party in general. To me, his depiction of third parties as the housekeeper in the Tom and Jerry cartoons reminds me of the role third parties such as the Populists, Progressives, Farmer-Laborers, and even Socialists used to play in our country’s government. They could hardly be called centrist, but they did act as an outside force on the two ruling parties, pushing them to clean up their act or risk the voters clearing them out of DC. I don’t think the author of that piece would be too upset if the third (or fourth even) major party that arose turned out to be the Libertarians and/or Greens for instance, so long as they brought enough pressure to bear to make the Democrats and Republicans clean up their act.

  3. The CRISIS in the EVIL and VICIOUS minority rule gerrymander regimes is N-O-W.

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V
    NO Prez veto power.
    NO Prez pardon power.

Too many MORON profs to count who never heard about P.R. and MAX separation of powers.
Political *SCIENCE* has advanced, like most other science stuff, since 1776-1787 — regardless of the brain dead Paralysis in lots of places.
Gee – how many election related USA const Amdts starting with the 12th Amdt ???

  4. I find that when people advocate for a new party, many of them are advocating for a hyper-liberal-secular party, with a facade of being a centrist party. There is a difference, and I can smell’m a mile down the road.

My concept of a “centrist” party is one that is populist – meaning that it advocates for the needs of the people overall – not for a minority of people who think their views are more important than the will or the needs of the majority. I resent when someone claims that my views on a social issue, for example,is “hate,” when I simply believe that my view is for the best of everyone – and not just to placate a minority.

Even Scripture does not teach us to “hate” those whom we disagree with, but to, in a Christ-like manner, attempt to explain why we hold the position we hold. If we would all take that approach, we could all “agree to disagree” and work together on those things on which we are in harmony.

I am hoping to soon begin efforts to organize an Independent party in Alabama. Our first and primary agenda will be to get the signatures needed for ballot access. There will be no other agenda discussed or promoted – until we succeed with the first.

For those those who reside in Alabama and who would desire to help with this first agenda, I encourage them to drop me a message via my email which is alabamaindependent@charter.net From there, we can discuss ways in which they could assist in a particular county to accomplish the first agenda.

With some 50 years of political activity of various degrees, I feel I know the approach to be used to make this first agenda become a success. I trust that I might hear from you soon.
