U.S. Newspapers Appear Not to Report 7-Party British Debate

Although British press coverage of the 7-party debate on April 2 has been extensive, no U.S. news outlet seems to have covered the event. If anyone finds a link to a U.S. newspaper that does mention the debate, please comment. UPDATE: Gene Armistead sent me this link, by the Associated Press, but it appears to have been written minutes before the debate started, instead of afterwards. The story switches tenses throughout, between what happened and what is expected to happen.

UPDATE: here is a link to the 2-hour debate, from Green Party Watch.

Here is a BBC news story on the aftermath of the debate, with quotations from leaders of all seven parties on their reactions to the debate.

U.S. Newspapers Appear Not to Report 7-Party British Debate — 10 Comments

  1. Of course the mainstream news media here in America is nearly silent on the UK’s seven party debate, it doesn’t fit in with their “two-party system” centric view of politics. If I want real news, I tend to visit Democracy Now!, The Intercept, and here at Ballot Access News.

  2. Joshua H. hits the nail on the head. Great Britain has had a multi-party system for decades, and they have never had an internal revolution among the people because of more than two ideas of how to address problems.

The Democrats are afraid they will lose their status of being the party of “political correctness” and the Republicans are afraid they will lose their status of being the party of greed and capitalism.

Joshua is right, to get a broad spectrum of news, listen to Democracy Now, log onto Independent Voter Network, and of course keep up daily – if not hourly – with Ballot Access News. Also, listen to Alex Jones Live. I just hope his internet continues to grow, and sooner or later the so-called major networks will have to acknowledge that there is such a thing as truth and distortion – if not outright lying. Of course I watch FOX and the other phony liberal networks just to see how much in denial they can be.

And thank God for the internet. If we could have had the internet in 1860, perhaps the Civil War never would have started and we would have had at least 4 major parties – the Democrats, the Whigs, the original American Party, and perhaps a Western-based Populist Party. Politics definitely would have been different.

  3. People in California have been promoting REAL multi-party elections for 20 years which creates a new unity psychology by enabling many multiple decision-items and names to be considered simultaneously.

The ball of activity has influenced many people and thoughts from the founding of google dot com to spin and rhetoric of others.

But Ballot Access News writers are incorrect in thinking a 7-party debate is newsworthy because of their primitive perception of politics.

The election of a team transcends the individual and allows progress for the whole.

When you’re interested in hearing more about a unifying voting system which allows us to speak, think, vote and get things accomplished for the whole then we welcome you.

The 9th USA Parliament has been doing this successfully for twenty consecutive years and it works fine:

  4. The British can bring in seven candidates, and we can’t even fit in the Libertarian Party candidate for one debate?

  5. The 326 lowest gerrymander HACK winners may be elected by about 15-18 percent of the total votes in the coming May election — due to the multi-party stuff.

The 326 lowest hack winners in any coalition WILL be elected by about 20-22 percent of the total votes.

i.e. ONE more future EVIL and VICIOUS minority rule gerrymander regime in the DARK AGE Brit regime having NO written constitution.

DO NOT be surprised IF the regime falls apart —
    Right wing England
    Left wing England
    London
    Wales
    Scotland
    etc. — i.e. back to the olde past — about 600 A.D.
    —–
Due to SCOTUS, the minority rule gerrymander regimes in the USA are about 30 percent minority rule regimes — i.e. average gerrymander rigged district winner gets about 60 percent — 1/2 x 60 = 30
i.e. ALL houses of the Congress and State legislatures.

With about 40 repeat 40 percent of the voters NOT for the leftwing Labour or rightwing Conservatives the media is having a great fun time with the leaders of the other gang parties.

i.e. about a month of some freedom in the regime before a MP election — then almost 5 years of the robot hack dictator tyrants in the DARK AGE regime.

Would be totally intolerable in the U.S.A. — BUT the victim Brits put up with the tyrant JUNK.

  7. I believe that the USA’s team of fifteen President of the United States (POTUS) candidates all agree on one item; that’s to use pure proportional representation (PR) for electing names and decision-items.

We aren’t just like seven Prime Minister candidates trying to the better than all the others, we’re a team who are working together for the good of the whole.

We’re able to vote on a “Unity Platform” and we all are part of the United Coalition because we agreed to be a part and we elected our own debate rules and qualification rules for participation as a team.

With us fifteen, nobody is more important than the team.
