Commission on Presidential Debates Obtains More Time to Respond to Lawsuit — 3 Comments

  1. Oh yeah. Delay – delay – delay until even if decision goes against them, it is too late to take effect. You would think that the courts would sense some urgency on this with the election now less than a year away.

  2. @Gene: Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, and their fellow plaintiffs didn’t even file this lawsuit until September 29 of this year, even though most of the facts in it relate to the 2012 campaign and how the debates that year were organized.

If this case is so urgent for them, they probably should have filed the lawsuit earlier.

  3. Joshua,

They did file a lawsuit prior to the this one. They filed one the year of the election. The problem is that the earlier suit was dismissed on procedural grounds and had to be refiled. So they took their time to file a new suit.
