On January 4, filing opened for the Illinois presidential primaries. For the Democratic presidential primary, supporters of Hillary Clinton and Willie Wilson were both waiting at the door for the 8 a.m. opening. A lottery will be used to determine which of them is listed first on the Democratic primary ballot. Wilson lives in Chicago and placed third in last year’s Mayoral race. He is also on the Democratic presidential primary ballots in Louisiana, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas.

The Republicans who filed on the first minute are Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump. Filing closes on Wednesday, January 6.
