Do all parties in Mississippi get a primary? Will the Greens have one?
Technically all qualified parties in Mississippi nominate by primary. Realistically, no minor party ever has a primary in Mississippi. The state does not permit write-ins in primaries, and when only one person files for a particular office, that person is deemed nominated and no primary ballots are printed up. Also parties in Mississippi must do a great deal of work administering the primary (somewhat similar to South Carolina and Texas). Primary candidates file with the party, not with government authorities.
