  1. A voter may object to the government maintaining a public record of their political beliefs.

Party registration converts political parties into quasi-governmental bodies. A party as recognized by many states is the body of electors who have registered their party affiliation with the state. Some will go along in order to fully participate in the fundamental activity of a democratic republic: voting for their government. Some won’t.

Some people may feel they are interfering by participating in the nominating process.

  2. Jim Riley,

Look what happened only yesterday in the District of Columbia. Elector in the District of Columbia that went to the Republican
Convention to Vote where required to sign a document to vote for
the POTUS choice that they were Jewish if voting at night. There
was no rights given to non-Jews that wanted to vote, because of their faith required them not to vote during daylight on Saturday.

What is the Republican Party plan to do with the statement by
Jews, turn the list over to the RJC or just give the data to the
    government.
