Jeff 4 Justice asked Bernie Sanders on June 4 why Sanders is only running in the Democratic Party process. Sanders responded, but didn’t really answer in a responsive way.

Great questioning and followup of Sanders!
To me Sanders didn’t answer but merely responded — by implying that he first wants to try a direct approach to reforming political funding: Turn the Democratic Party into his vision of an ideal “progressive” party that is funded primarily through small grassroots donations.
If (WHEN) that goal falls short (because he’s not the party’s nominee) then next time around he’d have little excuse not to start out directly as a 3rd party or independent.
But as supposedly liberal and open-minded as Sanders bills himself, he should have at least acknowledged Jeff4Justice’s question by citing the importance of alternative parties.
Sen. Sanders, what better way of diluting the undue influence of the “super rich” than to democratize political choice: Viable multiple parties that make corrupting them all more difficult.
