As Expected, Rocky De La Fuente’s American Delta Party Nominates Him for President — 19 Comments

  1. They had a national convention? Interesting… how many states does the Reform Party have ballot access in again?

  2. How many people attended this convention? Is this an actual party, or just something to use for one election cycle? There’s no website or Facebook page for the American Delta Party.

  3. I have ties to the American Delta Party and I can tell you that we will be fielding candidates past 2016, hopefully in time for the New Jersey and Virginia elections in 2017.

  4. The Reform Party is on the ballot in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida. But the Mississippi Reform Party is headed by Shawn O’Hara and he pays no attention to the national Reform Party.

  5. I don’t know why they chose the name “American Delta Party”, but our internal polling shows us at 1.39%.

  6. Jeremy, I suspect the De La in Rocky’s name had something to do with it. Also, a delta is a triangle, 3-sides possibly invoking a “third” party. Clever. Either that or he’s going after the Delta Force anti-terrorism vote.

  7. The Greek letter delta is also used in science as the symbol for change. That’s what I thought of when I heard they’d picked that name.

(But if we’re having fun coming up with alternative theories, maybe De La Fuente is a fan of Delta blues? Or “Delta Dawn”? I wonder about Chris Powell’s idea, though — unless he’s understating and they REALLY didn’t think the strategy through . . . how can you expect to identify a campaign with Delta Airlines when you give Delta second billing behind American?)

  8. what are their beliefs? what is the american delta party all about? why was it created? are they democratic or republican?
