Sixty Minutes Interviews Libertarian Ticket — 8 Comments

  1. Pretty much pablum. However the last exchange was interesting WRT previous discussions here. Johnson and Weld seem to disagree about who they will take votes away from!

    Transcript:

Steve Kroft: Who are you taking votes from?

Bill Weld: I think at the end of the day, it’ll be more likely from Trump than from Clinton. Other people say, “No, we have this big appeal to the millennials,” so it’ll be more from Clinton than Trump.

Steve Kroft: This is my observation. You’re much more antagonistic towards Donald Trump than you are towards Mrs. Clinton.

    Gary Johnson: Oh no–

Bill Weld: You must’ve done well in school.

Gary Johnson: May be– that may be Bill’s– Bill’s outlook. But for me, this is– this is– both sides. This is– man, this is both barrels. And I’m not going to lose one minute of sleep ruining this two-party monopoly that is going on. I think they are dinosaurs. And I think we’re the comet in this whole equation. And I’m glad for it. I’m proud of it.

  2. I wish Gary would talk more about his plans regarding appointing people to the Supreme Court. When I ask questions about that on Facebook — on Johnson’s own campaign posts — I end up getting such a variety of responses from his supporters. The only time I’ve heard anything in particular from Johnson himself was on the CNN Town Hall show. Johnson talked only very briefly about what he would look for in searching for people to appoint to the Court, and what he said was okay, but I wished to hear more. Then Weld took over the discussion, and what Weld said left me feeling very, very ambivalent — about Weld. In terms of so many of his other policy positions, I like Johnson, and the Libertarian philosophy, a lot, but the qualities we need in Supreme Court appointments is of paramount importance to me, much more important than anything else.

  3. I remember 60 Minutes interviewed Governor Wallace in 1968. Have they interviewed any other third party candidates during election years?

  4. I presume NO mention of the minority rule OLIGARCHY gerrymanders that control the People of the U.S.A. — esp. both houses of the gerrymander Congress and the gerrymander Electoral College.

i.e. one more USELESS interview by MORON interviewers with their softball questions/editorial comments.

i.e. more New Age DUMB and DUMBER stuff.

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V.
