Bloomberg News Editorial Criticizes Commission on Presidential Debate — 9 Comments

  1. The Cpd should be fair and allow the only serious third party candidate Gary Johnson to be allowed into the debates or allow an alternative Presidential debate for third part and independent Presidential Candidates that will be televised and broadcast on the radio .

  2. Hmm. With *Overthrow* in the editorial header will Bloomberg be charged with insurrection against the gerrymander regime ???

Abolish the evil rotted minority rule Electoral College.
    —-
Uniform definition of Elector in ALL of the USA.

NONPARTISAN election of all elected executive officers and all judges via Approval Voting – vote for 1 or more, highest win.

  3. 45 states and the fact that the Green Party is an international party isn’t serious enough for you William? Both Gary Johnson and Jill Stein should be in the debates.

  4. There is a clear difference between Johnson and Stein in level of support in polling, in ballot access, in fundraising, and in media attention. I don’t think any of that means that Stein absolutely shouldn’t be included, but if the CPD had chosen to include Johnson but not Stein it would have been more defensible than their decision to disinclude all but Trump and Clinton.

  5. Gary Johnson is the “only serious third-party candidate” for the presidency?

One might think a serious presidential candidate would at least have a basic grasp of the issues — something the gaffe-prone Libertarian nominee clearly hasn’t demonstrated despite receiving far more mainstream media coverage than any other minor-party or independent candidate for the White House in this election cycle.

  6. Johnson has a fine grasp of the issues. Mere moments after the Allepo gaffe Johnson outlined his plan for moving forward in Syria. Later that same day Obama and Kerry announced that they had put into motion some initiatives with Russia that mirrored Johnson’s plan. Johnson had not been briefed about security matters like Trump or Clinton but he still had managed to figure out the best next steps for dealing with the mess in Syria. Meanwhile Trump’s gaffes (didn’t know what Brexit was; thought Belgium was a city; etc.) come in waves and Clinton’s gaffes (claiming she didn’t know how to tell if an email was top secret or not) or so serious that she should be facing jail time. This non-existent main stream coverage is trying to tell a story about Johnson that is not true which should surprise nobody who is actually paying attention.

  7. Rock I like to buy you a cup of coffee .When it concerns the Green party they need to be stronger on labor and workers rights issues to be taken seriously by me .I am a pro Labor Libertarian.Yes I differ on some issues with the Libertarian party .So iam human to

  8. When will the Reform Party become an ideology party and a conservative Libertarian party then I will take them seriously to .

  9. Darrell Castle is qualified in 46 states, and California is still in play. Why is he not regarded as a serious candidate?
OH, I keep forgetting, this is the year conservativism was throughly strangled to death.
