Greg Orman was an independent candidate for U.S. Senate in Kansas in 2014. He came in second, losing by approximately 92,000 votes to the Republican incumbent, Pat Roberts. Here is an article by Orman at Real Clear Politics, making the case for Instant Runoff Voting. Orman makes some original arguments. Thanks to Craig Marolf for the link.
I’m not sure what the original arguments are in favor of IRV/RCV, but it is an excellent article. Fingers crossed for Maine Question 5!!!
IRV IGNORES most of the data in a Number Votes Table —
The Middle is divided as usual.
34 AMZ
33 ZMA
16 MAZ
16 MZA
99
With IRV, M loses, A beats Z 50 to 49.
Number Votes Table
— 1 — 2 — 3 – Total-T
A 34 — 16 — 49 — 99
M 32 — 67 — 0 — 99
Z 33 — 16 — 50 — 99
T 99 — 99 — 99
The IRV FANATIC math M-O-R-O-N-S love to ignore the 67 votes for M in second place
— i.e. M is the compromise *middle* choice.
I.E. IRV W-I-L-L elect even more extremists who WILL claim a mighty mandate from Hell to do whatever.

Remedies – P.R. (legislative bodies) and NONPARTISAN Approval Voting (elected executive officers and all judges).
— pending Number Votes with Head to Head (Condorcet) math and an App.V. or added place votes tiebreaker.
Orman made false claims about IRV in this article, showing once again that even IRV’s proponents generally don’t understand the system.
