Maine Initiative for Instant Runoff Voting Wins

With 90% of the vote reported, Maine Question Five has won, 52% to 48%. This is the initiative to use instant runoff voting in future elections for congress and state office elections. Here is a link to Maine election returns.

    That said, it sounds like the forces against this change will fund a lawsuit saying that this decision required the Maine Constitution to be amended, and is therefore unconstitutional and null and void. Ugh.

  2. More brainwashing of the public by the usual suspects.

    IRV ignores most of the data in a Place Votes Table — i.e. ignores compromise choices and makes it even easier for extremists to be elected.
