Wisconsin State Court Orders Governor to Schedule Two Special Legislative Elections

On March 22, a trial state court in Madison, Wisconsin, ordered Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to schedule special elections for two empty seats in the legislature. See this story.     NO more high cost special elections

    — with folks moving around having 2 or more votes for some offices during a term.

    Have voters vote for representatives and alternates. But there would be two positions here. Apply the STV system here as if it were a 2-member district. 33.34% to get a seat, either as a representative or alternate. Any surplus votes and/or votes for candidates that come last in a count will be transferred to each voter’s next choice.
