Wisconsin Voters by Huge Margin Vote to Retain an Elected Partisan Office of Treasurer

On April 3, the voters of Wisconsin voted by a 61%-39% margin to continue electing a partisan state office, Treasurer. The legislature had put a ballot measure on the ballot to abolish the office.

Having the Treasurer’s election continue in existence makes it somewhat easier for parties to retain their status as qualified parties. Wisconsin defines a political party to be a group that polled 1% for any of the statewide offices. The only other partisan statewide state offices in Wisconsin are the team of Governor-Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General.

  1. Do the top execs have TOTAL power to investigate each other regarding crimes and torts ???

If NO, then just more LAWLESS HACKS. Duh.

  2. The office of treasurer originated when there was a small state government, and they didn’t trust the governor with the state checkbook. Nowadays the treasurer’s function is handled by dozens of clerks.

    Texas state treasurers in succession:

Jesse James (1941-1977) Who better to trust the money with.
    Warren G Harding (1977-1983) Ditto.

Ann Richards (1983-1991) ran for governor as having done a good job as treasurer.
Kay Bailey Hutchinson (1991-1993) ran for US senator as having done a good job as treasure.

Martha Whitehead (1993-1994) who ran for election seeking to abolish the office since it was not necessary.

  3. What USA or State/Local Treasurer has raised any ALARM whatever about USA or State/Local debts and the intentional systematic destruction of the dollar ???

Is the purchasing power of the USA dollar NOW even 0.1 (repeat 0.1) percent of its 1789 value

    — after the hyper-inflation in Civil War I in 1861-1865 and since 1933 – and esp. since 1965 (Vietnam War) ???
