Cook Political Report Story on How Top-Two Jeopardizes Democratic Ballot Access in Three U.S. House Districts in California

The widely-read Cook Political Report has this story about the California top-two system, and Democratic Party fears that no Democrat will be on the November ballot in three particular U.S. House districts, even though Hillary Clinton carried all three districts in November 2016.

This story may be old news to BAN readers. The real significance of the Cook Political Report analysis is not so much the content, but that this subject is getting so much national press attention. Thanks to Rick Hasen for the link.

Cook Political Report Story on How Top-Two Jeopardizes Democratic Ballot Access in Three U.S. House Districts in California — 6 Comments

  1. My impression is that Cool promotes a divisive program, us Vs them, as typical in establishment media.

Top Two offers us voters a way to unify for gender balance, since a 50/50 unity can be attained by using the Top Two system to achieve one of each gender in every district.

Also, by using a message if unity, candidates need only 33.33 (plus one vote) to advance to the November ballot and thus be rewarded for good teamwork.

My own campaign in 2012 for US President used teamwork to garner 52.7% in the only primary proceeding their national convention, but the Libertarian Party was so consumed with stopping Top Two (i.e. Winger, Starchild, Hinkle, etc.), bent on censorship and degradation of outsiders that they didn’t see my own win of any significant matter, that my campaign using collaboration between multiple candidates was snuffed out by them at every turn.

A more disturbing trend is SF’s one-party system which the establishment media, google, BAN and others support which is far more seriously damaging than Top Two, being a trend that must be stopped and reversed.

The SF voting system would be of very serious concern if adopted in Southern states.

The SF Chronicle and SF Libertarians are behind the one party system and so they support a step backwards and the trend continues to be a bigger and bigger problem for the residents unknowingly living there in a one party system.

The SF Chronicle, Bay Area News Group and Libertarian Party are responsible for cementing the one party system and the problems have spread to Maine and other regions.

Now in 2018 those responsible have made no effort to stop the one party system and instead have stopped any talk of gender balance and unity offered under Top Two.

The United Coalition has been correctly promoting a message of unity by building our team under pure proportional representation for twenty-three consecutive years despite the vicious treatment and unfair treatment by opponents of Top Two.

  2. I would describe Top Two as a three-party system since it allows the close three-way tie broken by two votes.

The RCV in single-winner districts (like in SF) is a one-party system.

Pure proportional representation is the all-party-system (and independents).

Google snuffed out the All Party System’s momentum when they were founded, deleted the evidence that they started in the United Coalition’s conversation and then they directed all search traffic away from United Coalition’s sites at the request of internet bully Cameron Spitzer who was the Green Party “internet coordinator” in 1994.

Those are some reasons why we have the one-party system based in SF, Oakland, Maine and soon more and more places across the USA. Not to mention the connections to Syria, Libya, Iraq and Arab Spring where the incorrect approach to political change has been embraced.

  3. Hillary Clinton should have moved to California and run. She is, like y’know, really good with accents.

  4. Can ANY of the genius-math MORONS in the super ignorant brain dead media detect —

    NO primaries.

Ballot access ONLY via nominating petitions or filing fees.

    PR and AppV

  5. Men, a good source said that Lydia Ortega [Republican] for CA Lt. Gov. is a good fit for our team under Top Two. Please spread the word.

  6. Too many math M-O-R-O-N-S to count —

    plurality primaries
    top 2 primaries
    RCV/IRV
    —-
    NO primaries.
PR and AppV – pending Condorcet
