Jonathan Jenkins, Independent Candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, Appears Unlikely to Qualify

June 21 is the Texas deadline this year for independent candidates. It appears that Jonathan Jenkins, independent candidate for U.S. Senate, will not have the needed 47,086 valid signatures. He is endorsed by Unite America (formerly the Centrist Project) and had substantial financial resources for his campaign. No one else tried to get on the Texas ballot for statewide office this year, and no minor party made a substantial effort either. The only parties on the ballot are Republican, Democratic, and Libertarian.
