On August 28, Oklahoma held runoff primaries for the Republican, Democratic, and Libertarian Parties. This is the first time the Libertarian Party has ever had a runoff primary in Oklahoma. Here is a link to the results. The Libertarian results, which take up a very small part of the returns because only Governor had a runoff, are sandwiched between the Republican results and the Democratic results.
Congratulations Honourable Chris Powell [Libertarian], winner of Libertarian Party primary ballot for Governor of Oklahoma, and thank you sir for having served in the US Military.

The news anchors on three Oklahoma City television stations that I watched stammered and stuttered, but they eventually got the words out of their mouths that the Libertarian Party held a runoff election and that Libertarian Chris Powell will face the Democratic and Republican candidates for Governor. Congratulations Chris.
I am very saddened by the 13% turnout for the Libertarian Runoff. I can understand that the motivation would have been low for many voters. The primary had two big things happening that increased turnout, SQ788 which a lot of libertarians wanted to see passed, and Joe Exotic mobilizing voters both for and against his nomination. Neither issues were on the ballot this time.
Richard, I understood it to be the case that the Libertarian Party has never had a runoff election anywhere. Is that correct?
