Andrew- to what kind of “crap” are you referring? The USSC doing nothing or having to produce ID at the polls?
ID at polls. As far as I’m concerned if you’re in the country, and thus subject to its laws, you should have say in who gets to make those laws.
The US government should issue ID’s to all persons lawfully present in the country. Congress would require the ability to vote in federal elections using the ID. When a person moves, they would update the address, and the federal government would inform the new and former states of residence.

The ID would only be required for certain activities. Voting, boarding planes, being hired, paying taxes, 14-2 enforcement.
