Republicans Sue to Remove Democratic Nominee for Pennsylvania State Senate, 38th District, from Ballot

On October 15, Pennsylvania Republican officials filed a lawsuit in Commonwealth Court to remove the Democratic nominee from the ballot, in the State Senate 38th district race. See this story. The lawsuit says the Democrat has not lived in Pennsylvania for four years.

  1. She could have voted in Maryland on November 4th, 2014 and have lived in Pennsylvania for more than 4 years by November 6, 2016. The Senate is the judge of the qualifications of its members so it could choose not to seat the candidate.

    The suit could also be intended to highlight that she has recently moved to the state.

  2. Will court cases be filed on election days 1 second before polls open to get stuff off the ballots ???

    How about a ballots stuff statute of limitations ???

    TOTAL Separation of Powers = NO hacks ruling on hack elections.

  3. Yeah, this is why I mostly like Oklahoma’s challenge system. You have 10 days from the filing period to challenge a candidate’s qualifications for office. After that, tough cookie.
