3. Not difficult to have an electronic voting system that has verification. All electronic voting machines should both print out a paper ballot and send the ballot in electronic form to 4 locations; a precinct tabulator, a county tabulator, a congressional district tabulator, and a state wide tabulator. After polls close 10% – 20% of paper ballots are pulled at random at each precinct and checked against the electronic records. Then each precinct verifies by phone with all the other tabulators that random ballots were correctly sent. The other tabulators also verify with each other (statewide and county verify random ballots, county and district verify, etc). It’s a consensus system just like any block chain. If there is any discrepancy in any of the pulled ballots, then you fallback and count all the paper ballots… this isn’t that hard… humans are just idiots.

   This consensus model is good enough to validate candidate/party petitions, and keeps every crypto currency running.
