New York Bill to Remove Party Emblems Has Passed Both Houses of the Legislature

New York Senate Bill 2300 has passed both houses of the legislature.  However, the versions of the bill are not the same in each house, so the bill still must pass the State Senate again.  It removes party emblems, also known as party logos, from general election ballots.

Removing the emblems will make it possible for the ballot to be structured in clearer format.

Assuming the bill becomes law, the only states that will continue to print party logos on ballots will be Alabama, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.  The last states to remove logos were Michigan, Missouri, Utah and West Virginia.

  1. Logos were due to having a HIGH percent of illiterate voters in MANY States – often recent naturalized foreigners.

NOW — a HIGH-ER percent of illiterate voters in MANY States than ever ???

See reading test scores in many New Age so-called skooools in the USA —

moron kids promoted — to be politically correct

    >>> direct to min. wage jobs (if any) or jail after crimes.

See all sorts of logos on foreign ballots – plants, animals, math, etc.

Thus – small logos for INDIVIDUAL candidates — esp. mini-candidate faces

    — perhaps colored – RED communist, GREEN plant, etc.

  2. Richard, FYI, I believe West Virginia eliminated party logos on ballots when it got rid of straight ticket voting back in 2016. At least I haven’t seen any since then. Note that most all counties use electronic voting (no logos). I distinctly remember that they used to appear on the punch card ballots and electronic voting through the 2014 election. (The Constitution Party’s logo was the Minuteman which, as secretary, I had submitted to the SOS). Maybe they are still in use on paper or mail in ballots? I don’t know. https://ballotpedia.org/West_Virginia_official_sample_ballots,_2018
