Maine Bill to Expand Ranked Choice Voting to State Office Fails to Win Two-Thirds Vote in House

On May 14, the Maine House held a vote on LD 1477, the proposed constitutional amendment to expand ranked choice voting.  Currently it exists in Maine for congressional elections in both the primary and the general, and it also exists for state office, but only in primaries.  LD 1477 would have expanded it to state office in the general election.

Although most House members voted for it, it did not get two-thirds.  The vote was 85-54.

  1. 18 OF 50 STATES WITH VOTER PETITIONS FOR STATE CONST AMDTS [BY MAJOR MIRACLES]

THEY WILL HAVE TO LIBERATE THE REST.

SEE THE UNION ARMY 1864-1865 >>> 13-14-15 AMDTS THE VERY HARD WAY.

  2. Very sad to see the one-party system brought to Maine by Rob Richie, FairVote and others. This will be damaging to the cause of pure proportional representation for a very long time.

The United Coalition USA has been bringing the correct math for pure proportional representation for more than twenty-four consecutive years and the FEC, Google and the party bosses are censoring our voices and blocking PPR.

Do you want to see progress for pure proportional representation (PPR)?

Our team is bringing Prez candidates who are female gender as the United Coalition USA, five of whom are Libertarians or former Libertarians.

  3. Ogle… seriously just shut the fuck up with your fucking scam crap already…. you’re either a scumbag or a moron. JUST FUCKING STOP.

  4. Vote was down party lines primarily… Only 2-3 Dems voted against, and only a couple of the Independents voted against. Republicans again out themselves as a party that doesn’t believe in real representation. They really have proven to me to be a party that is utterly useless to any kind of freedom. They’re even economic protectionists and interventionists now… so more for the supposed economic freedom.

  5. Fascist elephant oligarchs generally responding to communist Donkey oligarchs — since 1929.
