Tom Steyer Drops Out of Democratic Presidential Race — 24 Comments

  1. I wonder why guys like Steyer and Yang even bother in the first place. With all the money they have they could have bought independent ballot access in most states if they started early enough.

  2. They are Democratic Party activists. Why would they do independent petitions? They probably think that could help Trump, which is not what they want. Steyer got in when he saw the other candidates not doing well in the early debates and not addressing some of the issues he wanted addressed; he got out when it became obvious to him he had no chance at the nomination, that is when his major focus on South Carolina did not pay off as much as he hoped. Yang is probably not as wealthy as you think, and he may have positioned himself for future runs, media gigs, etc, etc.

  3. Bloomberg is in it to get Trump out. If he runs as independent it may have the opposite effect. Like Steyer, he got in it when he was disappointed by the existing Democratic field. Unlike Steyer, he still believes he has a legitimate shot at the nomination at this point. We shall see.

  4. Steyer is a billionaire, but he is nowhere close to the billions that Bloomberg has.

Yang is not a billionaire. His net worth is somewhere around $2 million. The website CelebrityNetWortg has him at only around $600,000. Other sites list his net worth between $834,000-$4 million. Even at the high estimates that is not even close to having enough money to really impact a presidential race.

  5. Tom Steyer’s net worth is about $1.6 billion. Michael Bloomberg’s net worth is about $62 billion. Big difference.

  6. Bloomberg is wasting his time too. The only winners in his case would be the TV stations for all of the advertising.

  7. Bloomberg spending money on this campaign is equivalent to a regular person dropping change at a vending machine.

  8. E.G. looks like I probably will not make it to Chicago debate on March 4.
Too bad; I wanted to meet Kris Lesiak and Jo Jorgensen there. And others.

  9. Pete “Alfred E. Newman” Buttigieg (Boot-edge-edge) really doesn’t want Crazy Bernie to be the nominee so he’s having his supporters vote for Sleepy Joe on Tuesday.

  10. The question then will be whether Pocahontas endorses Crazy Bernie or appeases the Democratic Party establishment.

  11. Time for demented Donald to forget to return from a trip to Moscow before president Sanders locks him up.

  12. Exactly. Yes, she’s a fake Indian who used her fake race to become a professor at Harvard and to apply for the Texas bar but that’s not the only fake thing about her. She has a fake personality and fakes drinking beer. She faked a story about being fired as a pregnant special education teacher. She also faked a story about Crazy Bernie saying a woman can’t be elected president. That’s probably just scratching the surface. She’s a fake fakey faker and I’m glad she’ll never be president.

  13. What USA New Age top Donkey is NOT an undercover RED communist DECEIVER ??? —

with dreams of TOTAL COMMUNIST control over the USA population ???

See Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc.

See esp BS – appropriate initials.

  14. Good riddance that Steyer is out. Wasted $22 million in South Carolina making a ton of promises and got zero delegates !

  15. Yang could get a job at CNN tomorrow if he wants. They love Democrat rejects.
