Link to American Independent Presidential Primary Election Returns — 7 Comments

  1. This will have an interesting effect on the general election, clearly people voted for him merely because of his identical name to the famous singer. He should do disproportionately well compared to any of the more recent AIP nominees in the general election and with California ballot access will likely be the highest vote getter Prohibitian party presidential nominee since at least the 1950’s.

  2. It doesn’t follow that just because Collins won the AIP presidential primary, therefore the AIP will nominate him at its August 2020 convention. Generally the winner of the AIP presidential primary does not get the nomination. The AIP presidential primary is not binding.

  3. Richard Winger, the AIP would be stupid not to nominate him. He’s guaranteed to get more votes than any other candidate they could hope to put up merely on the factor of his name alone. It would generate a great deal of free publicity for them as well.

  4. They will most likely either nominate Trump again or sell their ballot line to the highest bidder.

  5. What is the point of even holding a primary if the party ignores the wishes of its voters and nominates somebody else? Their website now says “Trump-Pence, God willing 2020” http://www.aipca.org/

  6. Wally George was the West Coast version of Morton Downey Jr. Like Mort, he passed away.

I had never heard of Wally George until I went to California in the late 1990’s. Morton Downer Jr. 1as gone by then.

The person above posting as “”Wally George” is likely Paul. Not only do the comments sound very Paul like, I know that Paul knows who Wally George was, and Paul also knew who Morton Downey Jr. was, and he even said he attended a live taping of The Morton Downeny Jr. Show in New York City or somewhere in New Jersey.

If Wally and Mort were alive today, both would likely be big Donald Trump fans.
