Ian, I’ve heard that claim way too much, mainly from Biden-stanners. I find it laughable.
Why? It’s supported by the recent Monmouth poll. Basically, what appeal amash has is mainly to republican leaners who oppose trump. If amash is not on their ballot they’re more likely to vote for Biden. If he is, some of them vote for amash. They don’t vote for trump either way.
I am making no claims whether that’s a good or bad thing, or which geriatric rapist with dementia is worse than the other between Biden and trump. It’s just a question of which one amash hurts or helps more. See the recent Monmouth poll and consider how that works out if trump/Biden becomes close, which it likely will.
Perhaps he should refocus his attention on running for re-election to the House. It appears the Libertarian Party is going to miss many states anyway this year. Now they can’t even agree on what the word “place” means! Sort of reminiscent of Bill Clinton and his meaning of the word “is”!

I find myself skeptical of the poll as it’s based on a “name availability” heuristic. I’ll bet 98 percent of respondees couldn’t name another single Libertarian candidate. It’s like the “generic Democrat” vs Trump poll, but only in reverse.
