New York Assemblymember Rebecca Seawright Will Run for Re-Election as an Independent

This article says that Assemblmember Rebecca Seawright, a Democrat, will run for re-election as an independent. She was removed from the Democratic primary ballot by the State Court of Appeals two days ago.

Governor Cuomo has still not said what the petition requirements will be this year for independent candidates, and the nominees of unqualified parties. Earlier he said the start date for petitions, which is in April, is “suspended”, but he as never replaced that start date with any other start date. For now, petitioning is illegal.
