Brock Pierce Says He Will be an Independent Presidential Candidate — 32 Comments

  1. Do these people jumping in late not know anything about ballot access laws. It would appear that way.

  2. Maybe kanye is having another manic episode and brooch pierce, whoever he is, is either engaging in idle speculation or doesn’t know what he’s up against in terms of media disinterest and ballot access hurdles. Or maybe he’s only mildly serious and just wants what little attention he can milk from it. Maybe he’s delusional. In any case what does he have in common with kanye except apparently a big ego? I don’t think kanye has any interest whatsoever in being anyone’s VP or second banana. I have no idea about this guy pierce who I never heard of.

“Cryptocurrency” remains a combination of utopian dreaming and modern day tulipmania . Few people care, much less know anything about anyone associated with it. Of the few people who care, many are of the opinion that it’s dangerous financial rat poison, a government plot, or some kind of criminal scam. Maybe some combination of those. Its relatively small base of hobbyists is split between principled nonvoting, not give a crap nonviting, not allowed to vote nonvoting, and voting for a variety of existing candidates for a variety of different reasons. If he works really, really hard at it, spends a lot of time and money etc, pierce will attract a sliver of that sliver to vote for him, or to pay attention to cryptocurrency, or something. Maybe it will get him a cable tv talk show afterwards.

  3. Cryptocurrency is the money of the future. Cryptocurrency can take down both central banks and governments. This is why the ruling establishment fears cryptocurrency.

Word is getting out about cryptocurrency. It is now possible to buy Bitcoin, and some other cryptos, at Coinstar machines, and various crypto ATM’s, which can be found in Walmarts, grocery stores, shopping malls, and mini-markets across the country. Sure, lots of people still do not understand it, but lots of people have heard of it, and lots of people have heard about people getting rich off of it. Lots of people like the idea of getting rich.

Brock Pierce is not a household word, but he’s a guy who got really rich off of cryptocurrency. Money can buy publicity.

  4. Walter is right, while Andy appears to have learned nothing since 2017-8 and is still holding out hope for the electronic fools gold.

  5. Nice section on sexual abuse allegations on the wiki page demo rep. Thanks, for once your comment was helpful.

  6. Every time anyone has claimed crypto is dead or has no future, they have been proven wrong.

The ruling establishment hates cryptocurrency, because they can’t control it, and they know that mass adoption of cryptocurrency could mean the end for them.

  7. How have they been proven wrong that it has no future? People keep predicting mass adoption and it keeps not happening. A lot of suckers lost money on it a few years ago which leaves investors leery and it’s never done as well again after trading futures rolled out, allowing people to bet against it. And anytime it starts to get popular again there are more regulations, more theft, more seizures, higher transaction fees and longer wait times. Besides, what difference does it make if it has a future or not? How is that going to help a former child actor who is “big in the crypto community” and has sexual abuse allegations become less of a joke candidate for president?

  8. Mass adoption takes time, and yes, it is happening.

Lots of people have made lots of money investing in crypto. Sure, some who bought in at peak prices lost, but those peak prices are in the process of rebounding, and new peaks will be reached.

Some cryptos can’t be regulated, like privacy coin Monero, which is so private even the NSA can’t track it.

Cryptocurrency is making banks obsolete. Cryptocurrency can also make it impossible for governments to collect taxes. Crypto can destroy central banking AND governments.

  9. Yeah, I’m sure there’s nothing they can think of to stop it. In the meantime, it won’t help him run for office this year, at least not much.

  10. Brock Pierce got filthy stinking rich off of cryptocurrency. Having lots of money is always a plus.

  11. Blankenship has money too, and even a party nomination with some existing ballot lines. So does DeLaFuente. Money only gets you so far, especially if it’s not in the billions and you don’t want to spend a huge chunk of what you have tilting at windmills.

  12. Brock Pierce’s estimated net worth is somewhere between $700 million and $1.3 billion. He could still get on a lot of state ballots if he is willing to throw some money around. Money can also buy publicity.

He has no chance to win. It will be Biden or Trump. I am just saying he has enough money to get on a bunch of ballots and make a splash.

  13. Meh. He won’t. Having money and being willing to spend it are different things. Most net worth is generally tied up in investments. How liquid is he, or willing to liquidate investments? How much does he understand about what he needs to do to qualify? Who’s advising him on that if anyone? Then there’s the child abuse stuff. Good luck with that. It’s not going to go well.

  14. Body said it would go well. Even if a lot of his wealth is tied up in assets he does not want to liquidate, a guy like that could easily dump $50 million into the race, and it would not put much of a dent in his lifestyle. This could get him on the ballot in a bunch of states, and get him some publicity. He would not come close to winning, but that was not my point.

  15. Is “weoo” coded language?

“Nobody said it would go weoo,”

Does this have something to do with Brock Pierce diddling little boys?

  16. Child molester for president is a non starter, who cares if he’s rich.
