This newspaper story says the contested U.S. House race in New York’s 22nd district turns on whether about 70 voters should have their ballots counted. They registered to vote on time, at the Motor Vehicles office. But the county didn’t process their applications in time because the County Board of Elections was overwhelmed with work. I don’t know the legality of the situation, but if these voters registered on time, and it was the county that failed to process the applications, I don’t see why those ballots shouldn’t count as it was out of their hands, and it was the county at fault. Just my view.
If they filled out the voter registration at the motor vehicles office on time it should count.

Have military and police supervise the revote. In person one day voting only. Anyone coming to vote must bring their current non expired state id and voter registration card and sign on the spot to make sure all the signatures match. If they have warrants they don’t vote, go straight to jail. And if any illegals show up they go to deportation. Check to make sure the address is in the district. All elections should be conducted that way and no machine voting, paper only. Military tallies the votes not corrupt locals.
Personally I believe we should bring back literacy tests, poll taxes and grandfather clauses and limit voting to property owning w men over 21 but it’s hard to amend the constitution.
Whose idea was it to have motor vehicle departments process voter registration? No wonder that the voters didn’t get registered in time.
