New Hampshire Senate Defeats Bill for an Independent Redistricting Commission

On February 11, the New Hampshire Senate defeated SB 80, which would have set up an independent redistricting committee to draw U.S. House, legislative, and other districts. All Republicans voted against the bill and all Democrats voted for it. The vote was 14-11.

New Hampshire Senate Defeats Bill for an Independent Redistricting Commission — 4 Comments

  1. What if we had one branch of the legislature turned into a large at-large district with proportional representation

  2. No need for redistricting if legislative seats are just distributed among counties mathematically, with the result that more populous counties become multi member districts elected by proportional ranked choice voting.

  3. WZ – SCOTUS hacks have ordered 10 +/- pct pop limit for state/local gerrymander districts — WY case — low pop density State.
