Three Candidates for Virginia Governor Submit Petitions

June 8 was the deadline for independent candidates, and the nominees of unqualified parties, to submit signatures to be on the ballot for Virginia state office. Three petitions were submitted for Governor. They each needed 2,000 signatures. It is not known whether the petitions have enough valid signatures.

The candidates are T. C. Phipps of the Constitution Party, Princess Blanding of the Liberation Party, and independent Frankie Bowers.

Here is a website for the Liberation Party.

Three Candidates for Virginia Governor Submit Petitions — 12 Comments

  1. They use to have a truely excellent candidate Sarvis but far right assholitarians gave him endless shit for supposedly not being a real libertarian, when actually in reality he is their not.

  2. The LPVA seems to have disappeared. I think they are running three candidates for Assembly, and that’s about it, or at least all I could find.

With only 2000 signatures required, it should have been easy to qualify a candidate.

And you’re right about Sarvis. I voted for him twice. I believe he doesn’t even live in Virginia any more.

  3. The LP of VA is among the largest LP state affiliates. I am pretty sure they are in the top 10 in terms of number of dues paying members. VA is the 12th most populated state. 2,000 valid signatures should have been easy for them.

  4. Apparently Brad Froman bailed out. His website now says nothing about his candidacy: Home – Brad Froman for Governor
    Search domain http://www.bradfroman.com/
Candidate Brad Froman will not be fighting for a political party, big corporate donors, lobbyists or other political class power-brokers. Brad sees the job of Governor as serving the needs of the people on the front lines of daily life who are just trying to survive. Young adults are seeing less opportunity than their predecessors.

  5. Was Brad Froman the independent for Governor. If so, I know somebody who has a ton of experience gathering petition signatures in Virginia and a bunch of other states who was negotiating with Brad Froman to work on his petition, but Brad thought he could do it all with volunteers and online signatures, and did not need to hire anyone. It looks like he was wrong.

  6. Yes, Mr. Froman was to be an independent candidate. What I posted above was apparently what was on his website when it was geared to his campaign. It’s what still comes up on a search of his name for governor.

  7. According to Blanding’s social media accounts, she has qualified for the ballot.

  8. The Libertarians used to qualify when they needed a lot more signatures. I’d also be interested to find out what happened.
