Political Scientist Bernard Tamas Predicts Stronger Third Parties in Near Future — 10 Comments

  1. No mention of Duverger’s Law.
    No mention of Perot.
No mention of how if Wilson had bolted the democratic party and joined Roosevelt’s Progressive party, that party could have won in 1912.
Also the Progressive party lasted more than 10 years if you count 1948.
And -OF COURSE- no mention of Top Six or PLAS.

  2. Perot’s Reform party has been described as center/right.
Also the present Reform and Alliance party.
Trump’s new party would NOT be center/right.
    More like neo-fascist.

  3. 1Libertarian Caucus Being Decimated!

In the 2018 to 2020 US Prez elections, the California LP censored, they used the systemic racist voting program Porcupine, and they used communist-style elections where only insiders get nominated and/or placed on ballot.

All the state LP execs used one-party insider control. None used a competitive voting system.

That was in 2020 and now in 2021 the entire California LP convention took instructions from the Porcupine programmer after State Chair guided the use and addition of Porcupine into the State Platform. Everyone adjourned so to learn the one-party system better at the CA LP convention.

In California and in New Hampshire the Mises Caucus is using slate voting strategy to bring all-male slates. New nominees get snuffed out because we are forced to use the same voting system which is blocking us as competitors.

In California the LP voters lowered the percent of female execs from around 29% to around 21% when VP Gail Lightfoot’s seat was eliminated and taken by a three-male Mises male names after the Mises Caucus spent the funds to win in 2018.

In 2021, the New Hampshire the four-male Mises Caucus took four of the five seats, and starting revoking women’s membership from NH’s so female percent is 20% of the five. Jackie Perry was the non-exec also targeted and removed by them.

In other losses the Fakertarians Discussion Group Facebook Discussion page was taken down, the LNC Chair was forced out for defending the actions by the Mises Caucus to remove the first person who was a woman, and that helped snuff out free speech and collaboration.

    Our team will keep trying.

If you have no will to change it, you have no right to criticize it.

  4. Except for hardy, ideological parties, like the Libertarians and the Greens, most third parties get discouraged when they bang up against the obstacles of ballot access, and plurality voting.

  5. The progressive parties in 1924 and 1948 were different parties. They just had the same name. I think it was also a different party in 1924 than the one in 1912, but not as sure about that. I think the author is talking about antitrump republicans as center right. Trump controls the Republicans so he has no need to start a third party.

  6. Smaller parties will make inroads into election, but no so to affect election outcomes in the US. Looking at history proves that it is always a two-party system. Perhaps taking away some votes from other parties but not to change or even win an election. Bashar Malkawi
