Curtis Sliwa, Former State Chair of Reform Party, Wins Republican Primary for Mayor of New York City

On June 22, Curtis Sliwa won the Republican primary for Mayor of New York city. See this story. Sliwa was state chair of the Reform Party starting in September 2016. The Reform Party lost its qualified status in New York state in November 2018. In the November 2020 election, Sliwa endorsed Brock Pierce for president. Pierce was an independent presidential candidate who was also the nominee of the Independence Party of New York state.

Sliwa defeated his only opponent in the 2021 primary, Fernando Mateo, even though Mateo received approximately $2,000,000 in public funding, and Sliwa did not receive any public funding. The Republican Parties of Manhattan, Queens, and Bronx endorsed Mateo, but the Republican Parties of Brooklyn and Staten Island endorsed Sliwa. Thanks to Frank Morano for this news.

  1. Congratulations to the next mayor of NYC, Curtis Sliwa, who will be the best mayor since the great American hero, Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

  2. This should be entertaining.

It is ashame that Morton Downey Jr. is not still around.

  3. Approx ZERO chance that Silwa will be elected in 90 plus pct RED commie Donkey NY city.

    NOOO extremist primaries.
    NONPARTISAN execs/judics via Appv.

  4. Lets say he wins could he switch to the reform party even though the reform party is no longer qualified.

  5. I met Sliwa in Baltimore during the 1970’s when he was leading the Guardian Angels. He seemed sincere back then and if I was a voter in New York I would vote for him. Sliwa would clean up the streets.

  6. I question his judgement if he backed a kiddy diddler for president.

  7. How big are the troll / CIA / FBI dossiers on each LP person

    — candidates / party officers / party members / relatives / friends / etc. ???

  8. Sliwa’s endorsement of a kiddy diddler was probably after the fact and I wouldn’t hold Sliwa accountable for his decision because that’s like saying, i.e., everyone that bought McAfee anti-virus protection endorsed everything the crazy-ass owner and creator did afterwards in his personal life.

  9. Cathy Rojas is an independent running for mayor who is a member of the PSL (Party for Socialism and Liberation). Considering how the Democrats have likely decided to nominate a bloody cop owned by landlords, anyone who considers themselves progressive or more so look into Rojas instead.

  10. Phil, the Democrats aren’t even close to communist, and the likely nominee, as I said, is a shill for landlords. Go learn about ideology instead of making asinine statements like that.
