Politico says 41 candidates have qualified for the California recall gubernatorial ballot. See this story. The list is not yet official. Politico says Larry Elder, a Republican somewhat well-known for his radio show, did not qualify; but the story also says that Elder says he did qualify. Thanks to Political Wire for the link. UPDATE: the Secretary of State’s tentative list only lists 33 candidates.
It would be a bummer if Larry Elder did not qualify. He would be one of the best candidates on the ballot.
IF RCV was being used-
THEN what percent of voters could/would rank ALL 41 correctly ???
Richard:
When I looked at the SOS list on Friday morning the number of gubernatorial candidates listed I believe was 78. This was on the list of who had filed to accept (or not) the campaign spending limits. It would be interesting to learn all the various reasons that occurred & number of candidates for each who were disqualified from appearing on the recall ballot.
A lot did not come thru with money or sigs or too many sigs were garbage.
There are two ways to count votes. 1) Pure proportional representation (PPR) and 2) non-PPR elections.
The only way to have legitimate elections is when all Gov and Lt Gov candidates are on the ballot and both are elected simultaneously, ranked choice voting (RCV) and the single transferable vote (STV), two winners under Droop Quota.
The United Coalition USA has been counting votes correctly for 26 consecutive years.
Voting and nominations are going on now for the 2024 Electoral College under PPR and we’re expanding by twelve in California so to breing the 6457-party/caucus system under Washington’s Article the First and write-in names and caucuses/parties:

We’re bringing the new 6457-party/caucus system and we’ve already surpassed 1500 consecutively ranked names as nominees.
Twelve new Mini-state election results in twelve population balanced regions; states and groups of states.

Demo Rep, there would be no requirement to rank all candidates. A voter would be able to rank as many or as few from the list as they chose. Any requirement to rank even more than one candidate in an RCV system would almost certainly be struck down in court, as it was in Oklahoma in 1925. Also, I’m not clear how candidates could be ranked incorrectly.
CP — Incorrect rankings –
ANY thing other than
1, 2, 3, etc.
— esp 2 or more of same rank number
AB 1

GH 3
JK 3
MN 3
Gentlemen, get your paper ballots ready, and let’s rank in up to 41 new gubernatorial candidates on the Los Angeles County Mini-state Election ending August 6th 2021!

Demo Rep, I don’t recall seeing an RCV ballot that allows voters to fill in the rank number. They seem to all have check boxes for 1st choice, 2nd choice, and so on. The only exception of which I am aware is the federal emergency absentee ballot which is all write-in and relies on the voter to get everything correct.
Ogle is running for President of California
Is he one of the 41, or is he running for President of California in the 2023 election?
As a non-linear person, he’s running retroactively in the 2019 California presidential election.
Does he have to masterbate in front of bias tv to achieve time travel as news chicks watch him choking the chicken?
