This Politico story says that Andrew Yang intends to start a new political party. Yang is publishing a book, “Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy” on October 5, and the story says the book will explain more about the new party. Thanks to Political Wire for the link.

Maybe he should team up with Rocky de la Fuente, and actually get the Alliance Party going somewhere.
Their outlooks seem similar: sort of moderate, contemporary liberalism.
Sounds more like he should team up with the People’s Party. Another group that recently left the Dems.

The more parties, the better. That makes it harder for any one party to get full control, or just to win with a majority.
Only the Libertarians and the Greens are currently able to do that. Hopefully, some of these dissident major party pols can get something going.
Just a reminder of why we have few candidates on the ballot. It’s because the SYSTEM thinks a cluttered ballot would confuse the voters and lead to chaos. I don’t agree with this. Restrictive ballot access helps keep the candidates to a few so the ignorant voters don’t get tripped up. lol
Single member districts and plurality (aka first-past-the-post) voting support the two party system, but leave open the possibility that some third party or independent candidate will “spoil” the outcome. So, instead of improving the system with multi-member districts and alternative methods of voting, the established major parties prefer to increase any and all barriers to the entry of new candidates and/or parties, resulting in the preservation of their preferred system, and the general frustration of a large part of the population that feels that their input doesn’t matter.

I watched the Youtube video of the Alliance Party virtual convention from 2020 and hear the keynote speaker from Kansas. He was very good and exactly the kind of person we should have in office. I wish the Alliance Party well, but as someone who is a moderate myself, it feels like the country has gone crazy and their is no appetite for reasonable people.
