Charlie Baker, Massachusetts Governor, Might Run for Re-Election as an Independent Candidate

This story, and others as well, speculates that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker may run for re-election in 2022 as an independent candidate. In 2014 and 2018 he was elected as the Republican nominee. UPDATE: on November 30 he said if he runs for re-election, it will be as a Republican. See this story.

  1. I hope he runs as an independent. Then, maybe voters in Massachusetts will see the need for ranked choice voting.

  2. Now he won’t run? That’s disappointing. I was hoping for a minority plurality to make the case for RCV.

  3. Good riddance to bad rubbish. The time for independents has passed. It is now time to clean out the leftist and establishment rhinos from the GOP, make it a Full Trump nationalist party, bring in the remaining Blue Collar White/Male/Cis-Hetero (Christian, patriotic) Democrats, and make for a clean cut battle between the forces of good (GOP) and evil (globalist, elitist Democrats and their Godless, unAmerican, rent-seeking, welfare addicted, special interest, rainbow freak show). People like Baker can go be Democrats now, or just fall off into a sinkhole for all I care. They are no longer welcome in the GOP and don’t belong on the ballot unless the Democrats nominate them, at least until we can kick the Democrats off the ballot too, at which point they can either become Patriots or just die and go to hell.
