Green Party Petition for Recognition in Yavapai County, Arizona Fails

On December 17, the Yavapai County elections office determined that the Green Party petition for party status in that county did not have enough valid signatures. The party needed 2,091 signatures and submitted 2,363, but only 1,872 are valid. The petition deadline is November 25, 2021. The Yavapai County Green Party now is in an excellent position to sue over the absurd petition deadline, if only it can find an attorney. No court has ever upheld a petition deadline that was virtually an entire year before the election.
