See this ElectionLawBlog post, which has the relevant paragraphs. Wyoming has a liberal independent candidate petition deadline. It is in late August. The petition is somewhat severe but Cheney could meet it; it is slightly over 5,000 signatures.
Certain other states in the west have very bad independent candidate petition deadlines for office other than president, especially Arizona and Montana, both with May deadlines. Also California’s deadline is in March.

It would be great for Liz Cheney to go directly to jail for her abuse of power, civil rights violations, and malicious prosecution of President Trump and his allies. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich said it could happen. That’s a much more likely scenario than Barney Frank’s fantasy.
That’s true. People didn’t do anything on January 6 except legitimately express their opinions. They were welcomed into the capitol and were very well behaved tourists. The only violent act that day was a rogue cop who shot one of the tourists. There was some minor vandalism by antifa infiltrators but it didn’t amount to much, and one officer who felt bad about his fellow officer killing the invited tourist who killed himself the next day.
The entire so called January 6 committee and the leadership which appointed them needs to be tried and punished for treason. We do still have a death penalty for that.
