Socialist Workers Party is Only Minor Party With a Candidate in a Washington Statewide Race

The only statewide races in Washington state this year are U.S. Senate and Secretary of State. All candidates run in the August 2 primary, and only the two top will appear on the November ballot. Filing has closed. Although there are many Democrats, Republicans, and independents who will be on the primary ballot for U.S. Senate, the only minor party with a candidate is the Socialist Workers Party, which is running Henry Clay Dennison. Here is a link to the Secretary of State’s candidate list.

In the U.S. House races, the only minor party candidates are an American Solidarity Party candidate in the 3rd district, and a Libertarian in the 8th district.

  1. Ballot access – nom pets / filing fees ???

At least NOOO shortage of candidates in new gerrymander dists.

How many fake candidates using a party label only due to the rigged gerrymander percents per dist

    — esp 2020 Biden/Trump pcts ???
    —-
    NOOO primaries

    PR
    APPV
    TOTSOP

  2. The Socialist Workers Party has been doing a bit better in its ballot access drives recently; I think they have candidates on the ballot under their own name in Minnesota, New Jersey, and Washington this year

  3. Peter, yes, and also they had a candidate in the June 2022 California primary for US Senate. In 2022 they have placed candidates for federal or state office on the ballot in more states than any other minor party except for Libertarian, Green, and Constitution (if being on in primary ballots in top-two states counts).

  4. It’s important that Henry Clay Dennison get the word out more if he wants to get even half of a percent of the vote. The only info I can find online is regarding his Governor run in 2020. He only got a quarter of a percent then, and less in his mayoral run last year. I sent an email to SWP to this effect. Step it up, y’all.
