Birmingham News Has Lengthy News Story About Libertarian Party — 12 Comments

  1. Good luck to the Libertarians of Alabama. It’s a tall order to get 20% of the vote in any state. But, it would be great if they did.

  2. In 2018, the Libertarians got these percentages in statewide races in other states with only a Republican opponent: Arkansas Auditor 27.65%; Arkansas Treasurer 29.11%; Oklahoma Auditor 24.82%; Texas Judge of Criminal Appeals 25.32%.

There were no 2018 races in which the Libertarian Party was in a statewide race with only a Republican, in which the Libertarian got less than 20%.

Also in 2018, the Libertarians were in a two-person race for Iowa Attorney General against a Democrat, and the Libertarian got 22.94%.

  3. Best wishes and good luck to the very active Libertarian Party and its fine candidates in Alabama!

  4. There are some races where conservatives can vote for Libertarians in good conscience. Kay Ivey is a Democrat in Republican clothing. She does not deserve another term. Time to send grandma to the retirement home ya’ll.

  5. Why do non-duopoly candidates continue to ignore the fundamental injustice of censoring voter’s ability to freely choose candidates when casting their ballots? Why tolerate ANY quotas to qualify a candidate to receive a vote or the candidates endorsed by a party to receive a single vote from any voter?
Ballot access laws make all U S elections inauthentic because they intimidate persons against campaigning for office. Voters do not choose candidates randomly. They choose from among those who can campaign asking for their vote. Ballot access laws are campaign censorship laws to prevent voters from considering alternatives to the state-imposed slates of candidates dictated by the entrenched elites who control duopoly candidates by controlling competition to those candidates. Stifling choice is fascism.

  6. I always vote for a third party candidate no matter what. I will write-in a candidates name that is running as a write in too.

Interesting. I suspect that a lot of those voters who voted Libertarian in those races were NOT Republicans.

  8. But those races don’t matter. We already know who will win them from the get go. Whenever it does matter, in competitive races, the Libertarians hurts the GOP. That was Ok when the RHINOS were firmly in control of the Republican Party and the LP was more conservative leaning. But now the GOP has gone MAGA while the LP has been kissing up to the disgusting satanic left with Johnson, Weld, Jorgensen, Amash, and people like that. So at this point the Libertarians are a net detriment. Now if the Republicans went back to running candidates like Bush, Cheney, McCain or Romney, and the LP went back to running candidates like Ron Paul, Bob Barr, Wayne Root, Augustus Invictus, Christopher Cantwell, David Macko, etc, that would be a different story.

  10. Lol bullshit. For first of all moderate is not necessarily a good thing. As we all know “extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice and moderation in the face of tyranny is no virtue.” Second, the green puke commies are even more extreme than the demon rat commies. Third, the Libertarian brand has been corrupted by burn loot murder Marxist scum and goofy leftist stoners and Hillary Clinton ass kissing gun grabbers , plus a formerly Republican traitor who sold out to the globalist elite and deep state plots to remove Trump over the Russia hoax and perfect call to Ukraine as well as the fedsurrection tempest in a teapot.

Most important of all it is all these leftist bags of human waste who are both the fascists AND the communists. Fascism and communism are and always were left wing despite what the globalist fog of propaganda is designed to mislead you to believe.

The Republican Party and it’s increasingly dominant MAGA majority is not fascist or communist. It is the exact opposite. Only through nationalism, capitalism and Christian conservatism can we save true liberty, save our souls, save America, save Western Civilization, save the White race, and remain free in the face of global satanic tyranny. The only part of the GOP which is fascist-communist is the “moderate” rhino’s and they are in their way out!!!

  11. Mac, what is your analysis of the Francisco Franco regime that ruled Spain starting in 1939?

  12. It was certainly not perfect, but much better than the leftist alternative it defeated to get into office. I don’t believe Franco was a fascist. He seems like he was much more of a traditional conservative, not interested in absolutist totalitarianism or global war or conquest. Unlike the fascists and communists in Russia, Germany or Italy at the time Franco did not seek a radical transformation of the social or economic order. He was more authoritarian than any kind or ideal I would aspire to, certainly, but considering the times he came to power in and the continuing danger of revolution and communist totalitarianism throughout his time in office, it is somewhat understandable that he did what need to be done to keep much worse from coming to power; but in outside view retrospect he could and should have become somewhat less authoritarian
later on. However by that time he was old and set in his ways.
