A Nevada poll shows that the top-five initiative, Question 3, is slightly behind. The poll shows “Yes” at 38%, and “No” at 40%, with the remainder undecided. See this story. The initiative results are at the very bottom of the article.

  1. Don’t vote for it. It is made to look simple and easy. Far from it. I live in Alaska and we just went through the first round of this in the primary. What a mess. Did not consider one of the finalist dropping out and skewing everything. Could be intentionally used to gain advantage by having someone drop out at last minute. Then comes election night. We are used to knowing the winner right away in all but very close elections. Not with this system. It could be 2, 4 or more weeks before a winner is known as was our experience. This make Alaska look like a laughing stock that cannot quickly decide who won. And the final results can be very different from what the majority of people would vote for under existing voting methods. Don’t do it. It will cause problems and is a wolf in sheep clothing.

  2. Why do people keep trying to meddle with what was the best voting system in the world? There was absolutely nothing wrong with how we voted in the 1950s, except maybe allowing women to vote. All the “improvements” since then have made things worse. Time to get back to basics.
